Work environment committee

Hope you have taken a look at my takeover - if not make sure you do it before it disappears and listen carefully as you find the answer to one of the questions in the quiz!

If you have listened to today's takeover, you already know what WORC is, but I thought I would tell you here for those of who have not had time to take a look and also tell you a little bit about why specially I work with work environment issues.

For me, the work environment was and is crucial for me to be able to study well and then succeed in all exams, seminars, practical examinations and so on. There is a need for good locations at school to study at that are quiet or provide space to discuss with classmates. The work environment is also about being able to plan your studies and not have a schedule that is constantly changing. I think this is something that you and all other students recognize themselves in. Of course, there are times when you yourself have watched an episode too much on Netflix, but a good work environment is maybe even where you can get help avoid procrastinating.

This summer, when I started my mandate, we talked through with the other generals about which areas we would be responsible for and then the work environment was at the top of my list. This became the area I was given responsibility for, which I´m 8 months in my mandate are still very happy for. Earlier in the spring 2019, a decision had been made to try to create a committee under each general who each handle a so-called Student Question and this became a reality during the autumn with me as chairman.

In WORC, there is a board member from each student association's board, and I think this is a good example of how the Student Union works together with the student associations, including Hälsosektion my own association, works for all students. We work together to ensure that you get as good time and conditions as possible while you study at JU and the work environment is a big part of this. It is important to include all the school’s perspectives in order to then be able to pursue issues throughout JU. This is what WORC does: drives your questions and tries to come up with suggestions for solutions to the problems you tell us you have.

WORC also runs its own projects and as you have probably heard and seen on my takeover (if not take a look) we are currently working on mapping what the environment looks like at the four schools and here we need your help! So, go to the student email or click on the link below and fill in the form so that your individual work environment can be better! Remember that without your input, we are limited in what we can do.

If you have encountered other problems, you can also contact us directly or contact your specific student association and we will take a look at it. If you have questions about the committee itself and our work, just email!

Have a great day and see you around!
