Meddelande från Ida i JSU styrelse

Hej! Jag heter Ida och jag pluggar International Management, men just nu är jag på utbytestermin i Malaysia. I drygt ett år har jag varit medlem i Studentkårens styrelse, och det planerar jag på att fortsätta vara. Eftersom vi just nu söker fler styrelsemedlemmar så vill jag passa på att berätta lite kring vad det är vi gör i styrelsen. Häng på!

So far, I have handled and represented the boards in committees and forums on topics such as equal opportunity and national student politics.

As a board member you get to see the consequences of your decisions, good and bad, in a way that school never prepared me for. I’ve sat, still sit, in forums to improve students’ everyday life and have gotten an inside look into how JSU operates. Being a board member is a fantastic opportunity and it gives the practical, real cases and perspectives one can only study in school. As a business student it is important with more than just theoretical knowledge when entering the work force, and therefore I value the opportunities of real experience I receive as a board member.

Since a year back I have also been the chairperson of the delegation JSU sends to national student meetings. This committee, working mostly with Sweden’s United Student Unions (Swedish: SFS), is the link between our local students and national student politics. This spring, we got through a motion, written by our local committee, making information about student rights more accessible for international students all over Sweden. This year we want more students involved in the motions written to the national assembly of student unions in Sweden, is there any change you want to voice?
