MUN stands for Model United Nations. Our goal is to simulate UN sessions and debates with the official UN rules. This is mostly done at conferences that are organized by universities and high schools from all over the world. MUN is about debating real world issues and learning new perspectives. By that it trains your English, debating and writing skills. But most importantly it is about having fun and meeting new people on an international basis.
Model United Nations is a re-enactment of the United Nations committees in which students represent the policies of a country. By debating and creating solutions on recent world politics from that country’s perspective, you can learn about diplomacy, international relations and the United Nations. Procedure, topics and voting systems are mimicked from the actual United Nations.
Universities from all around the world are inviting groups of students, as delegations, to join them in their international conferences. Our goal is to send JUMUN delegations to some of the nicest conferences. From Malta to Edinburgh, Harvard to Tokyo or just within Scandinavia, everything is possible.
As Jönköping University’s MUN association we introduce JU students to the rule of procedure, practice mediation, analytical and leadership skills and provide you with the necessary incites into current international relations. This way we hope to prepare you the best we can for conferences you want
