Don’t miss this opportunity to meet a real living moose and to visit a typical Swedish ecological Café! It won’t get more Sweden than this.
We offer two trips this semester:
1st trip: Sunday 1st of October
2nd trip: Sunday 8th of October
We’ll leave on Sunday at 8.30 AM and will be back around 6 PM.
We travel in a bus to Vimmerby and a special café called Ingebo Hagar. It is a typical Swedish ecological café located in the småland forest. There, we will eat some lunch and enjoy the surroundings. Kristina will guide us around and show us some animals at the farm. There are several hiking paths there, and the café recommends you to buy some fika and bring it in a basket while trying the paths out. You’ll have the chance to buy Swedish traditional handcrafts and different foods and snacks.
After a while, we take the bus to Virum – a small town in the deep forest of Småland and the small moose park there. When we reach our destination we will be taken by old military vehicles in to the area where the moose’s live. While staying in the moose area you get the opportunity to feed and pet the moose. They are very friendly and used to people, but you are not allowed to get out of the wagon, it is a wild animal.
At the moose park, there is also a souvenir shop, so bring some money of you want to buy a memory. http://www.virummoosepark.se/
When everyone’s happy, we’ll take the bus back to Jönköping.
