Get to know our Operations Controllers

At JSU we have two Operations Controllers, Austra and Marcus. They monitor the operations of JSU. Right now you can apply to be part of their team.

What are your assignment at JSU?

As an Operations Controller you keep an eye on the Jönköping Student Union and the work that they do, making sure they follow the documents of the Student Union such as the By-Laws and the Plan of Operations.

How often do you have meetings?

We don’t really have meetings apart from the Student Union Board meetings once a month that we are officially invited to attend.

Best part of being an Operations Controller?

You get to know a lot of the work that goes on in the Student Union. It is also an incredibly good opportunity to practice your critical thinking skills. Additionally, it looks pretty cool on a CV!

Is it tricky?

Yes, especially if you are or have in any way been involved in any of the student associations. This position requires you to be unbiased and evaluate the decisions based on facts and regulations and not your emotions towards any of the work done by the Student Union.

Why should students apply for this position?

As mentioned before, you are able to get a lot of insight into what the Student Union does and how much impact students can have at campus if they wish to. It also lets you see the work of a decision-making student body.
